International Licences

Bahamian drivers in need of a licence for driving abroad can apply for an International Driver’s Licence. This licence is an authorized translation of a Bahamian driver’s licence into many languages.  This licence is valid for one year.

Eligibility:

Applicant must be the holder of a valid Bahamian driver’s licence.

Process:

The following steps are required when applying for an International Driver’s Licence:

1. Complete and submit form and other supporting documents to the Road Traffic Department, Drivers Licence Unit.
2. Upon verification of information, the Clerk will issue a bill to the applicant.
3. Once payment has been received, the Cashier will issue a receipt of payment for the Clerk to process and issue the licence.

• 2 Passport sized photos
• Valid Bahamian Driver’s Licence
• Completed International Driver’s Licence Application Form

Turn-around time:

Within the same day, once all the required documents are submitted.
